Switch 2 Guide

See how Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest approaches Switch 2 play, cat creation, settings, story modes, unlocks, and platform checks.

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is available on Nintendo Switch 2 as well as the original Nintendo Switch. Its core experience is a turn-based Clan adventure: create a cat, choose a story, explore, hunt, complete quests, and build a move set for battle. No special Switch 2 graphics or performance upgrades are confirmed, so choose the edition for its platform listing rather than assuming an enhanced version.

Start with your cat and Clan

The opening lets you configure a cat before entering the story. Warrior names use a prefix and a rank-based suffix, so the name can reflect both the cat's identity and its place in the Clan. You can choose among the four Clan stories and follow that Clan's quests, characters, and conflicts.

The adventure moves through the Lake Territories, including forest, marsh, pine-swamp, and moorland locations. Quests introduce exploration and turn-based combat. Learn each action as it appears, then use the story's early encounters to understand how moves and Clan abilities work. The game is designed around four original campaigns rather than one shared linear route.

Modes and unlocks

Mode or featureHow it worksWhen to use it
Prophecy ModeFour original stories about the trials of Clan lifeChoose for the main campaign
Defender ModeOne run against the game's fiercest enemiesUnlock it by reaching Warrior rank with any cat
StarClan galleryA gallery tied to story completionComplete a story with any cat to unlock it
Skirmish ModeOnline asynchronous battles against other playersChoose it for a separate competitive mode

These goals are separate. Reaching Warrior rank unlocks Defender Mode, while finishing a story opens the gallery. Skirmish is an online mode, not another chapter in a Prophecy campaign.

Settings and platform checks

Open the settings before beginning a longer session and choose a comfortable audio level and language. The game's interface and dialogue make language choice useful to check early, especially if several people share the console. Exact button assignments are not confirmed here, so rely on the prompts shown in your version instead of assuming a Switch or Switch 2 button layout.

Before purchasing, verify the platform and edition shown at checkout. A store entry labeled Nintendo Switch does not by itself confirm a separate Switch 2 upgrade. Check the current regional listing for price, edition, download size, and available languages. The retailer’s Feral Edition listing is for Nintendo Switch, so it should not be treated as proof of a Switch 2 upgrade.

A practical first session

Begin in Prophecy Mode, follow the opening quest, and practice one combat encounter before switching modes. Pay attention to the tutorial prompts and the effect of each move. When the story opens a new area, explore its paths and quest markers before moving on. That keeps the early experience focused on cat creation, Clan progression, and learning the turn-based system.

If you are deciding between Switch and Switch 2, verify the platform and edition shown at checkout. Do not assume that a different console automatically includes a separate upgrade, save transfer, or performance feature; those details are not confirmed here.
