What the launch includes

The cat creator lets you name and customize a warrior before entering a Clan story. The four campaigns follow different Clan traditions, rivalries, characters, and challenges. Your cat can hunt prey, explore paths, complete quests, gain standing with the Clan, and develop new combat moves as the story progresses.

The world draws on six locations: ThunderClan territory, RiverClan territory, ShadowClan territory, WindClan territory, the Moonpool, and the Island. Exploration also includes hidden routes, secret areas, environmental puzzles, and encounters. Between quests, gather materials and use them to craft items in your den. Create a cat and begin a Clan campaign when you are ready to shape your own story.

Prophecy is the story-focused option. Defender is a single-run survival challenge, while Skirmish is a separate online mode. These modes have different goals, so completing one does not mean you have completed the others.

How combat works

Combat is turn-based, so the focus is on selecting useful actions instead of reacting to every attack in real time. Build a move set as your cat learns skills, pay attention to enemy weaknesses, and use Clan abilities when they suit the battle. StarClan can grant powerful ancestor attacks, adding another option to your strategy.

Prey and dangerous opponents both appear in the world. Hunting and questing help develop your cat, while rival warriors, predators, and bosses test the combat choices you have learned. A steady approach works well: review the available moves, choose a target, and adjust your next turn after seeing what the enemy does.

Choosing a platform and first session

PC players can compare the Steam edition with the Epic Games Store version. Console players can choose among the listed PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo releases. Check the edition and region before purchase; pricing and included add-ons vary by store.

For a first session, create a cat, select a Clan story, and follow its opening quests. Learn the turn-based combat flow before moving into the survival challenge or online Skirmish. The game centers on a cat's Clan journey, so exploring one story at a time makes its locations, characters, and combat progression easier to follow.
